HALO Foundation - KC Bartenders Competition

I must admit I don't photograph many live events but I couldn't let this one get away. Ryan Maybee from JP Wine Bar invited me to participate in doing my charity work for the week and capture the fabulous 2007 Bartender Competition for KC to benefit the HALO Foundation. A great event and a wonderful experience; please have a flick through some of the moments from the show. Talking about charity; let's get together and buy the Uptown a "w" - way to ruin a great shot!

I spent a fantastic week shooting a bunch of editorial work, unfortunately I can't reveal all those intimate details so here's a shoot from a couple of weeks ago that I never had the time to show off. It was another trip out with Matt Shepherd and the Wall St. space and we had a great time capturing the newly furnished conference room and coffee area.

KC Magazine, KC Homes & Gardens, KC Business and 435 South Magazine

Editorialtastic! Well, we got in a bunch of magazines this week and I'm very happy with how that turned out; as you can tell from the title of the post we ended up in KC Magazine with a great set of shoots on downtown Kansas City, a wonderful house by the gorgeous Sandra Joyce for Kansas City Homes & Gardens (in their spanking redesigned magazine), a great article on a really cool pharmaceutical firm named Proteon in Kansas City Business and then finally a luxury three million dollar home in 435 South Magazine. Not bad!

Equine Photoshoot - Tim Hamill

I went to photograph Tim Hamill from Bernstein Rein's beautiful herd of horses today. They're out on a ranch in Lawrence, KS, and after a bit of searching with some very pleasant canine companions we stumbled upon them in a beautiful piece of pasture land. My favorite was the young foal who decided I was a scratching post. It was a fantastic shoot with some beautiful light, colors and textures and brought the joy of checking for ticks when I got home!

Okay, I have no idea what Robata Sushi is, but Casey (Nara) is really cool and Tracey Sterns (360) designs cool stuff. So I loved photographing this breathtaking interior in shiny metropolis of downtown KC; plus I am head over heels in love with the exterior signage shots. A little tilt-shift action there. Omni (Addy) Awards - I'm a Winner! (Still)

Alrighty then; known as the Addy awards outside of KC these are called the Omni's inside of KC - don't know why, I'm just there for the shiny stuff. This time we picked up one silver for the incredible Feng interior photo shoot - thanks Willoughby, one silver for the horse portraiture - thanks Cabbie, and a silver and a bronze for the Bigsby mailer - thanks Bigs.

The BEST part was seeing Willoughby pick up a Gold for the Feng photos in their custom brochure. Love to see the clients win.
